Skip to content Unshelved A Lifetime of Books in Pseudo-Alphabetical Order I am an avid reader. But even more than reading, I love books themselves. Overbuying books is a habit of excess that is more socially acceptable than over-acquiring almost anything else. About 20 years ago, I was speaking with a near-stranger about my impulse control problems with books. He challenged me to read all the books on my shelves before I bought another book. That suggestion has stuck with me. Since I recently finished up my job as a book-movie-music reviewer for a magazine, I think I'm ready to tackle the project. I'm going to start reading through my shelves. I won't read all of them without acquiring any new ones, that's just crazy talk. But I'm going to start with the authors whose last names begin with A, reading one by each author in order. There will be more books along the way, since I'll be interspersing book club reads, young adult titles, and others that come up. If you are looking for a review of a book by a specific author, use the search bar at the bottom.

Hello and welcome to my blog! I am a Children's and Teen Librarian in North Carolina (although my official job titles just states "Children's Services Librarian" but whatever…). I'm actually pretty new to the library-world having only graduated with my master's degree in Information Sciences in December 2018 and interning at one other library before my current job. But my love for children and teenagers isn't new as I've been working and/or volunteering with practically every age for going on twelve years. And of course, my love for books is as old as time (just a little Beauty and the Beast fun for ya! ). My youngest sister likes to complain that I read too much but I don't think that's possible plus there are way too many good titles out there to just ignore them. And what book lover doesn't enjoy discussing their opinions on their latest read with anyone quiet long enough to listen? So keep checking back because I'll regularly add my thoughts to the millions of book reviews already out there as well post on any new adventures happening at my library.
